Since Flush was so influential in the forming of my early music tastes, anytime he'd pass off a new mixtape to me, I'd give it heavy rotation status even if it was music outside of what I normally listened to. This time he gave me in the fall of 1991, in a period when he was DJing regularly at Polo Bay (Margate, NJ) or Crazy Jane's (Somers Point, NJ). He wasn't spinning too much hip-hop at that point, so this mixtape is a blend of house, club, and that subgenre that seemed to only exist in 1991: hip-house.
